Bella Star, speaks out against Obama

October 27, 2008
Washington, D.C. - Film star and boy-band idol Eduardo Verastegui released a new Internet video that he was "inspired" to make after learning of Barack Obama's track record on abortion.
In the video, Eduardo explains that more than 1 million babies are aborted in America each year, and that more than 650 Latino babies are aborted each day. Eduardo then reveals Obama's startling history on abortion - opposing bans on partial birth abortion, opposing the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, and opposing parental involvement when a minor girl is abused; he supports financing abortion with tax dollars.
The video, in Spanish and English, is expected to ricochet throughout the Americas.
Eduardo states in the video, "If a president is not willing to defend the most innocent of his own country, the babies in their mother's wombs, then my question is this, who is he willing to defend? That's what inspired me to put this video together."
In a recent interview, Eduardo said, "More than 200,000 Latino babies are killed by abortion each year in the USA. This holocaust must end."
The Latin heartthrob made the video available for free to fans and curious onlookers by placing it on the Internet. The goal is to reach viewers throughout the Americas.
The star and producer of the award-winning hit movie Bella, Eduardo, 34, became famous singing in the popular Latino band "KAIRO" and acting in "Telenovelas" (Latin-American soap operas). He was recently voted by People Magazine en EspaƱol as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the world. His movie, BELLA, won the 2006 Toronto Film Festival People's Choice Award.

Wendy Wright, President of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee, a co-sponsor, said, "Eduardo's deep compassion for women and children wouldn't let him stay quiet. He is wisely using his popularity to expose Obama's views."
Spokesmen are available for interviews in English and Spanish.

Can you be pro-life and Christian or Catholic and vote for Obama?

Can you be pro-life and vote for Obama?
According to the Matthew 25 Network, you can be pro-life and support a political candidate who:
Voted against and blocked legislation that would have protected infants who were born alive following an unsuccessful abortion. Then misrepresented his record.
Promises as his number one prior to pass the Freedom of Choice Act, a radical legislative attempt to enshrine abortion-on-demand into American law, to sweep aside existing laws that the majority of Americans support and to prevent states from enacting protective measures in the future (more here).
Vows to nominate Supreme Court justices that support Roe v Wade
Wants to force taxpayers (and insurance companies) to pay for abortions - supports legislation that would repeal the Hyde Amendment which protects pro-life citizens from having to pay for abortions that are not necessary to save the life of the mother and are not the result of rape or incest.
Advocates cutting off all federal aid to pregnancy resource centers, which provide assistance to women who are experiencing crisis pregnancies -- and save the lives of many children.
Has been rated a big zero by every pro-life organization in the country for his voting record
Brags about his 100% rating by national pro-abortion organizations
Has the most liberal views regarding abortion on demand in the history of presidential candidates.
Opposes parental-notification for minors seeking abortion.
Is against "conscience-clauses" for pro-life doctors who refuse to do abortions
Has never voted to restrict or limit abortion in any way.
Despite the fantasy promoted by the Matthew 25 Network, the question asked in this post is rhetorical because ...
Barack Obama is the most extreme pro-abortion candidate ever to seek the office of President of the United States. He is the most extreme pro-abortion member of the United States Senate. Indeed, he is the most extreme pro-abortion legislator ever to serve in either house of the United States Congress. - Robert George
Obama's rejection of the God-given intrinsic dignity of human life is itself a rejection of God and reveals a horribly distorted view of justice that provides a basis for any number evils.
Why is respecting the person so difficult for Barack Obama?
No, to vote for Barack Obama is not pro-life.

Heaven Help us if Obama Wins ...

If Obama Wins
By plb on October 27, 2008 10:49 AM
If Barack Obama wins the election next week:
Any hope for a U.S. Supreme Court majority opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade will be lost.
The Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) will be signed into law eliminating 35 years of laws that have restricted and regulated the practice of abortion.
He would very likely offer legislation to eliminate the Hyde Amendment which protects taxpaying citizens from being forced to pay for abortions through Medicaid.
Abortion will be covered in his proposed national health care plan.
The Mexico City Policy, which bars taxpayer funding of organizations that perform or promote abortions in foreign countries, would be eliminated.
Funding for the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) would be restored, allowing millions of taxpayer dollars for abortions and forced sterilizations in Third World countries, including China with its coercive "one child" policy.
The Born Alive Infants Protection Act and the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act would be overturned.
Current restrictions on the performance of abortions on military bases would be removed.
What you can do: pray, talk to others and VOTE!

Pro-Life Politicians Have Made a Difference

Pro-Life Politicians Have Made a Difference
By plb on October 27, 2008 12:11 PM
During the past 35 years, the pro-life movement has made some real progress--progress that pro-lifers could at times do a better job of advertising. During the 1990s more states enacted parental-involvement laws, waiting periods, and informed-consent laws. More importantly, the number of abortions has fallen in 12 out of the past 14 years and the total number of abortions has declined by 21 percent since 1990. These gains are largely due to pro-life political victories at the federal level in the 1980s and at the state level in the 1990s, both of which have made it easier to pass pro-life legislation. Furthermore, since the next President may have the opportunity to nominate as many as four justices to the Supreme Court, the right-to-life movement would be very well advised to stay the course in 2008.

PORTLAND, Ore. – Planned Parenthood broke ground Wednesday on a new regional headquarters in northeast Portland, and more than 150 protesters turned out with signs to crash the party.
Protesters say the new 40,000 square foot building, to be constructed near the intersection of Northeast Beech Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, should not be built because it will offer abortion services.
They came from a group of religious organizations around the Portland area.
Organizers of the protest gathered hundreds of signatures to try to get the Portland Development Commission to deny the application to build on the site, which is on a piece of city-owned property.
Protesters said bringing abortion services to the neighborhood is a way of targeting the poor and African Americans. It also promotes a promiscuous lifestyle among young people, they said.
"We do not want Planned Parenthood building a facility where they are going to kill unborn babies in this town because … those babies are all innocent human beings," said protester Christina Degoede. "That's not acceptable for us."
But Planned Parenthood officials say they are building there to help all people who need preventative health care services.
"Abortion is a really small percentage of what we do, less than 5 percent," said Liz Delapoer of Planned Parenthood. "Ninety-five percent of our services focus on preventative health care."
Planned Parenthood officials said they help 60,000 people a year in the northwest.
The new facility would be one of the biggest in the United States.
Planned Parenthood officials have said in the past that the organization supplies the so-called abortion pill to about 17 people per month in its current clinic in northeast Portland.
The new clinic is expected to open in early 2010.
And protesters say they will return to the site frequently.

"But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against the LORD, and be sure your sin will find you out." Numbers 32:23

How Can Pro-Life Advocates Still Not Know Barack Obama's Pro-Abortion Views?

How Can Pro-Life Advocates Still Not Know Barack Obama's Pro-Abortion Views?
by Kathryn Jean LopezOctober 12, 2008
LifeNews.com Note: Kathryn Jean Lopez is the editor of National Review Online and a nationally syndicated columnist. A Catholic University of America graduate, Lopez writes often on abortion and bioethics, religion, feminism, education, politics.
Speaking to a group of young Catholics in New York almost one month before Election Day, I had a harsh awakening as jarring as a shot of Wild Turkey 101. Weeks before going to the polling booth, Americans do not know Barack Obama.
In a packed bar, I was discussing the contentious question of whether a Catholic can support Obama for president. I highlighted the priority that defending innocent human lives takes in these considerations, according to the Church. I then went through Obama's radical record on abortion. The jolt came after I finished speaking, when one by one, people told me they had no idea Obama was so radical.
They were shocked. And so was I.
We've been understandably focused on the economy lately, so much so that it's as if there are no other issues. But there are. And in the time we have left, voters must consider them.
Though for Catholics, in the end, it's up to the individual, through prayer, to decide upon political matters, my conclusion is that it would be a very tough thing for a follower of the pope to back the senator -- impossible, actually.
Obama has stood on the floor of the Illinois statehouse and argued that a baby born alive due to a botched abortion should not have the same rights as a child carried to term. That, in and of itself -- his opposition to Illinois' Born Alive Infants Protection Act, which sought to mandate safeguards for such unwanted children -- is a heavy obstacle to overcome for those Obama fans concerned about the future and dignity of human life.
He defended infanticide. That alone would be enough to keep me from voting for him. But, as it happens, it's not the only ethical affront the Obama campaign has committed, and far from the only offense to human rights that the Democratic presidential candidate supports.
Care for some others?
Barack Obama has told the Planned Parenthood Action Fund that the first thing he will sign as president will be the Freedom of Choice Act, which will sweep away limits on abortion -- state and federal -- including restrictions on government funding of abortion and laws protecting anti-abortion health care providers.
Barack Obama has condemned the Supreme Court's Gonzales v. Carhart ruling, which affirmed the federal partial-birth abortion ban.
Barack Obama supports federal funding of abortion.
Barack Obama opposes the Hyde Amendment, which restricts use of taxpayer dollars for supporting abortion.
Barack Obama called pregnancy "punishment."
Barack Obama believes that the right to have an abortion is a matter of equal rights for women.
Barack Obama wants to stop federal funding to crisis-pregnancy centers.
Barack Obama does not support the Pregnant Women Support Act, a project of Democrats for Life, meant to reduce abortions by strengthening the social safety net. This is important because it exposes as a lie a major talking point employed by those who argue that pro-lifers can support Obama.
It shows much of the left's patronizing rhetoric to be nothing but rank deceit. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi -- a Catholic who developed her own theology to justify her abortion support -- and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid have not allowed this important act to even come to a vote.
I don't think I'm unreasonable in thinking that sweeping away all abortion limits and funding abortion with federal tax dollars (while de-funding centers that provide alternatives to abortion) will increase rather than decrease abortions in the United States.
"The election of Barack Obama would endanger the lives of thousands of unborn children," University of Alabama professor Michael New tells me. "If he follows through on his pledge to sign the Freedom of Choice Act, it would likely nullify many state-level pro-life laws that the pro-life movement has worked hard to enact."
Calculations from the results of a 2004 Heritage Foundation study, authored by New, indicate that the repeal of all state-level public funding restrictions, parental-involvement laws and informed-consent laws would result in 125,000 more abortions every year. The repeal of federal pro-life laws might well push the numbers up even higher.
You can fall in love with the romantic idea of a black man becoming president of the United States, but in a country where black women have abortions at five times the rate of white women, he is a profile in cowardice. In a land where we have devoted ourselves to the pursuit of life, this is unacceptable. Vote as if lives depend on you.
They do.

Keep the Pro-life Candidates in your Prayers

Pastor Mark Arnold sent the following Email to Pastor Clagg recently. Pastor Clagg answered him below. Please read it all

This past Tuesday, the McCain-Palin Bus came through a little town called, Lebanon , Ohio. The Lord allowed me to go to the rally giving them a message that He wanted me to personally deliver.Sunday Night, a burden hit me that would only shake me to my knees. I prayed and wept for our Nation. Never has my heart been so broken before God. I literally interceded for these wonderful people who do not deserve all the hate against them. The God-haters are going to try everything to stop them, but they will not succeed! God is not pleased with the bashing in the news of this anointed person. He has called her for this time! I promised God that I would pray and hold them up in prayer. I would listen out and be mindful of where they were. The following day is important in this timeline because I didn't even know until God spoke to me. Monday and into Monday night, the burden of prayer was so heavy that I was literally shaking and could not stop weeping. I didn't know that they were coming to Ohio. I prayed and walked and wept and walked. I prayed and prayed and wept and prayed. Tuesday at 2:00 A.M., God spoke these words to me, "Go turn the Radio on!" Immediately the reporter's words were, "McCain & Palin Bus to be in Lebanon later this morning for a 10:00 A.M. Rally!"Immediately on hearing that news, I heard God again. God said, "You are to go. You will meet them and give them a message for me!"I prayed as an intercessor and went to a place in prayer that I don't think I've ever been because the Lord had just visited me; and I knew I was on a mission. I had now been up since Sunday nIght...and now it's Tuesday. And I've got to go on the word of the Lord. He sure became my strength as this unfolds. I didn't stop praying until I drove over to the town and parked the car. The news would later report they were expecting 5,000 people and the actual head count of those who had been scanned was more than 10,000 people. I simply obeyed, and God actually told me where to stand, whom to talk to, and when to be on the move. I had sure learned on the mission field, when God wants to open a door, He will do it at the appropriate time. He always has someone to assist, and even those standing beside you may just be an Angel. I struck up a conversation with an agent on the ground. He simply said, "I can't allow you to stand here." Here is where the bus was going to actual pull up to. They had to make a much larger perimeter so the entire area was now being moved back several blocks. The only other thing he told me to do was to go through the metal detector zone and just watch from the back. So, that's what I did.Due to sensitivity of the Internet, I can't share much of the story as to what happened next was a definite GOD THING ALL THE WAY. Looking over the shoulders and backs and heads of all those people, I knew it would take a miracle for what God told me to do.As I was standing there, two Boy Scouts came running up my back---literally; they almost knocked me to the ground because they were running so fast behind me---up my back and over to the right. These Boy Scouts were about junior-high age. Their scout leader and several others were behind them, but as the two out front was trying to push through the crowd, saying they were late, the smaller scouts were left in their dust. The scout leader who was with a McCain rep. from the state grabbed me and told me bring the other scouts up front as they try to keep up with the first two that just came through.I just became the leader of the rest of the scouts to lead them right up front and center. As the rep. was shouting back at me to bring the scouts forward, the people parted just like God parted the Red Sea. I marched those boys right up front and to the right of the stage as one was looking from the back. When I got there I was fifteen feet from the podium. God said, "Stand here, and don't move from this spot."Within five minutes...the bus pulled up and around the other side McCain, Sarah Palin and her husband Todd stepped up and the speeches took off. I was where God placed me, and even Sarah Palin and Todd were standing on my side of the stage. I made eye contact, I gave them thumbs up gestures, and I knew they were just happy to see me standing there. (Ha-ha!)When they came around the podium and started on the other side, I knew they were coming right toward me, a little lady who stood by me, reached up and told the rep. that they had been promised a picture with her because she was the one who had lost a son in Iraq, recently. The rep. confirmed she would get a picture with them and they would talk to her. When McCain came to hug her, he immdiately shook my hand and following his moment with her, I shook his hand as he grabbed my hand now for the second time, and I said, "God wants you to know that I'm praying for you, Sir!" He thanked me and kept smiling. I repeated that phrase to him five times. He grabbed my hands and looked right into my eyes and said, "I won't make it without prayer. Sir, thank you for praying for me, and don't let one day go by that you don't pray for me. I need all the prayers that I can get. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!"As he moved to my right, Sarah Palin, came over to my left side standing over the crowd, and then looking at the little lady who had lost the son. It took a moment for her to shake some hands and people were pushing in all around. Sarah came and got on her hands and knees on that side of the stage and hugged that little Mom, telling her, "It was not in vain." She promised her support. It was at this moment Sarah Palin reached out for me to help her up and as I was assisting her to stand I was now face to face with her and GOD said, "Open up your Mouth and I will fill it."Here is what came out:"God wants you to know that you are a present day Esther!" [She immediately began to cry]!"God wants to tell you that you are chosen for such a time as this! You are called, and chosen to be a leader. "Don't lose heart and don't fear man. The news, nay-sayers, and criticizers are going to be very hateful toward you, and in the days ahead they are going to turn up the heat, but do not fear. You are a present day Esther. You are an Esther. You are an Esther! Keep your eyes on GOD and know that He has chosen you to Reign! Stay strong; be strong; don't tire. Don't be weary in well-doing. Be strong."Her husband Todd came over and I told him what I told her. He began to cry.I emphasized the fact that he was to guard her at this time. And know that, "She is GOD-CALLED and GOD-ANOINTED. This is a GOD-THING, and your wife is a Present-day Esther. She is for God to use at this time. She is an Esther. She is an Esther. She is an Esther. You will be hated, but stand strong. GOD has called both of you to stand! We are praying and I am praying for you!"At this moment, McCain came right to where I was while finishing talking to Todd and I told Mr. McCain exactly what I told to Sarah and Todd Palin."Mr. McCain, they are called of God and she is an Esther. Don't lose hope and don't lose heart. We are praying for all of you!"He shook my hand and with a deep look of understanding what I had just said, he said, "Thank you for your prayers and support. I really do mean that!" And he turned and shook more hands, and I watched them as they went through the crowd. When I got to my car I sat there for quite a long time knowing the God of the Universe had just used me to deliver a message confirming to Sarah and Todd to realize they are truly chosen vessels of God. I wept. I have not stopped praying and crying. My heart is full knowing they had to have all the staging and all the hype and all the crowd, but the God of Heaven an d Earth wanted to give them a divine God-appointment! To God be all the GLORY and HONOR.If anyone wants to know if I believe God can speak, "Yes. Absolutely!", is my answer! Be praying for me, and let me know what you think about all of this.Pastor Mark Arnold
